As we prepare to welcome a new year filled with promise, the 2024 edition celebrates the richness of identity, a sovereign concept that profoundly influences our existence, constitutes our essence and serves as the fundamental cornerstone upon which we build our aspirations. Identity can be comprehended on multiple levels, uniting us across various layers of society as residents of our cities, nations, continents, and ultimately as inhabitants of the same planet.
Voyager Golden Record
Our planet is symbolised by a solar system in OVI®, and if you carefully look all over the card, you may recognise elements reminiscent of the Voyager Golden Record, a disc sent into space in 1977 to introduce humans to any potential aliens.
Demography
The Swiss Alps grace the backdrop with an offset print, while iridescent bluish ink covers the continents. The concept of demography embodies the world's population through a detailed three-dimensional design. At the heart of the card, the Lake Geneva region, home to SICPA, represents the final level of identity as a community.
Uniqueness
The human as a living being is depicted through various intaglio patterns. Upon closer inspection, you might notice hands and organic motifs as well as random DNA sequencing, referring to our encryption solutions. Just like each individual, our security features are unique, designed to provide personalised and unparalleled protection.
